Perks of dating a fireman
A fireman on duty was out washing his personal pick-up.I wonder who pays the utility bills for the water at the firehouse? Burns my hide they are being paid by Connersville citizens and washing there personal vechiles.I hope Lenard takes us down to volenteer fire fighters. I think it's safe to say a lot of people in C'ville agree with you, Fly. While I agree that the cost of services needs scrutinizing, and some of the pork cut out, I look at the fire service this way: What if?
We just had the Blue/Black striping put on all the cars a couple years ago and now I see the same cars with the striping removed and a new Logo on the side. One other note: They go on fender benders and chart it as a call. It is rather amazing that public service employees of all kinds want to add more people. They do a hell of a good job padding the numbers and making people think more it needed.
I would imagine this cost alot more then the water the above mentioned firefighter was using. Do you know that they have a built in raise coming anyway? The State Police added 200 more of them and they hang around in Connersville. You haven't got but very few elected officials willing to solve this problem. Locally, Urban and the council need to step up to the plate and stop this runaway train.

What if you, your family, or a child was trapped in a burning building?
Would you want a partially trained "volunteer", or would you want a certified, well trained person to respond?
The "cost" for that person/persons would quickly become a moot point.
